"Ashley saved my manuscript's life! I was panicking and needed an editor last-minute. She is so fun to work with, her involvement in the story is everything an author would want - her comments had ME giggling! Author friends, you need her!
Rose D Bentley"Since day one, Ashley has been a joy to work with! To preface this, I’m not a native English speaker so my writing needed a bit more clarity which was something I was seeking and got with her editing.
She has a ton of patience for all my questions and adjusted feedback to what I asked and throughout, she was always really helpful and made sure that all the feedback that was left always taught me something so that I don’t make the same mistakes twice, which is invaluable for me.
The tone of voice that I had originally was not lost with the editing, if anything, it was further reinforced or perfected. The writing will flow as you wanted as if you had been the one editing the book yourself, which is awesome.
She’s also an amazing person to have in your corner. She is incredibly supportive. She will leave feedback about the book itself, which was something that I was not expecting but that ended up motivating me a lot.
I would recommend Ashley’s editing services to everyone who wants to have really good editing. I will say in this case, because I wrote a Formula One romance novel, that she was not necessarily an expert in Formula One, but she went above and beyond to understand the sport, which is massive plus points in there. It show that she cares a lot about her craft and the authors she works with.
Ashley is unbelievable to work with. I’m incredibly happy about what I got with these edits in my debut novel “Racing for Redemption” and I will be working with her for the whole trilogy and hopefully for many more books if things go right on my end, so yeah, she’s an amazing person. An amazing professional, and I fully recommend working with her."
Vanessa F. Silva"Working with Ashley has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in my indie publishing journey. Not only is she incredibly skilled, she’s also warm, approachable, and—miraculously—made me take semicolons to heart. Yes, semicolons! The punctuation I used to avoid like a passive-aggressive houseplant has now become a trusted companion, all thanks to Ashley’s gentle guidance and sharp editorial eye.
She spotted the sneakiest of typos—the ones that somehow dodge every previous edit and smirk at you from the printed page. Ashley caught them all, and I could almost hear them shriek as she evicted them with professional precision. And just when I was spiraling into doubts about punctuation and AI rumors, Ashley calmly reminded me: em dashes and semicolons aren’t some new AI conspiracy—they’ve been in books long before AI existed, and they’re not going anywhere. So yes, she said, you can absolutely use them. That alone lifted a weight off my overthinking shoulders.
More importantly, she gave me peace of mind. I knew my manuscript was in excellent hands, which allowed me to actually relax during the publishing process (a rare and beautiful thing). Ashley is fast, clear, supportive, and an absolute joy to work with. She doesn’t just fix your words—she cares about your voice. And if you’re an indie author in need of someone brilliant and genuinely kind, look no further than Ash Tree Editing."
V.M. Larsson"Working with Ashley has been an amazing, transformative experience. Not only does she listen to your wants and needs, but she amplifies your voice as an author while keeping your writing style/tone. She’s thorough and cares deeply about helping others. Easy to get along with and asks questions, takes notes, and gives you tips/advice on writing structure, plot development, and character arcs. I’m so glad to have shared my debut novel with her, and I can’t wait to share more of my books and use her services in the future!"
S.J. Reid"Ashley's editing service was amazing! Super thorough and super fast! She cleaned and polished my writing without changing the style or tone, and my book feels so much more professional! Highly recommend!"
Sydney Wilder"Ashley is an absolute pleasure to work with. She provides timely, thoughtful feedback and did an excellent job with the copy and line edits on my book. Her professionalism, clear communication, and attention to detail made the editing process smooth. and enjoyable. She is refreshingly affordable, and her edits truly helped me refine and elevate my manuscript. I’d highly recommend her to any author looking for a reliable and skilled editor."
Abby Anne Korver"Ashley brings her kind personality into her workspace. Easy to work with, thorough, patient, and will thoughtfully explain grammar rules to help you understand her suggestions. Also wonderfully supportive. She does not jeopardize your creative voice, and respects your work.
KC Fetch"The best editors refine and elevate an author's style, removing the cruft and clarifying the author's voice, rather than a strict adherence to rules and style guides that result in bland and unimaginative prose. Ashley's edits do just that. Not only does she do the basics, like identify and fix my crutch words, but also helps me craft sentences that somehow make me (and my characters) sound even more like me than before. Love working with her, and I've already reserved my spot for my next book."
Delilah Grant"As a new and upcoming Indie author, I had a lot of fears. I wasn't sure who I could trust with my manuscript, if someone would steal my work and money. But the moment I spoke to Ashley, I felt I could tell her anything. She was kind, patient and affordable. I wasn't worried when I gave her my manuscript. When I received my manuscript back from a dev edit, she answered all of my questions (there were a lot), shared her thoughts, asked her own questions and left really good comments that made me reconsider certain areas and improve others. I can honestly say the entire process so far has been so fun and it's certainly worth every penny. I love, love, love working with Ashley and I hope to again for future projects!"
Zee Ghani"Ashley was both a Beta reader for my cold reader magnet and my line editor for my full length Fantasy Rom-Com novel. First, I messaged her out of the blue and she was nothing but responsive and professional from our first interaction. She gave feedback in a timely manner and thoughtfully answered my Beta questions. Her edits were thorough; caught my crutch words and took direction to a 'T' regarding some conventions of my writing/story. She had great substitutions that were in tune with what I was trying to say. She also slashed my filler words for more direct prose.
Her kindness shines through in her feedback - done with heart, compassion and confidence. I would highly recommend Ashley for any of your book needs!"
Emma Eden"Ashley is really good to work with. I wanted to work with her since I first talked to her ! She has a way of making you feel comfortable, and she is really trustworthy. Once I got to work with her, I can say that she is awesome. Totally recommend. Her edits are amazing, and she is really kind and always ready to help!"
